President’s Message
Since its establishment, YASKAWA has always supported leading-edge industries and technologies of the times. Started with motor application, then industrial automation, and mechatronics to robots, our history runs parallel to the modernization of industry. Our business hubs are located in 25 countries around the world including Japan, and the production bases are located in 9 countries. YASKAWA’s technologies, products and services being created from those hubs and bases are enjoying high reputation and great trust from customers worldwide.
We currently operate in the following four business domains, “Motion Control”, “Robotics”, “System Engineering” and “Information Technologies”. As a “Total Solution Company”, we contribute to the development of industry and society, by providing our customers with business solutions.
In fiscal year 2011, we speed up the implementation of the mid-term business plan “Challenge 100” which is in its third year, for the realization of our long-term vision of “using the group’s core technologies to solve emerging global problems.” This vision will guide us through the years leading up to 2015, the 100th anniversary of Yaskawa Electric’s founding.
We will step up our activities for market expansion in the new business domains of “Environmental & Energy” and “Robotics Human Assist” by reinforcing the organizational framework. For our core business domain of “Mechatronics Solution”, we will continuously launch new competitive products, and strengthen our business operations in the rapidly growing emerging markets.
Building on our technologies and the achievements made so far, I am determined to ensure that our group can continue growing even as market conditions change.
